January 2023 has rolled around faster than ever, and we thought we’d take time to look back on an exciting and prosperous 12 months; one which marked development and growth for the RCK team.
Over the past year, we have welcomed 56 new starters to our offices in Forum House, above Leadenhall Market. We can’t wait to see how the space grows throughout 2023!
The big news this year was the introduction of our new teams.
Richard Hill joined us in July as our new Head of Compliance. The formation of our new compliance unit was a key decision to stay ahead of the evolving needs of the tax incentive landscape. Richard now heads up the team to create a gold standard function with technical and regulatory accuracy, with expertise being the core foundation. Richard is an experienced Chartered Accountant who has been working in the tax incentives sector for more than a decade and is a leading expert in the field of tax relief incentives. He also has extensive experience in liaising with HMRC and resolving tax disputes.
In August we announced the expansion of our services to include Capital Allowances claims. The team is headed up by Mike Horn; Mike has been working in the Capital Allowances industry since 2014, having previously worked at both a ‘big 4’ accountancy firm and the world’s largest real estate services provider. During this time, Mike has gained extensive experience in providing capital allowances advice to a wide range of clients across all sectors, most notably in student accommodation, industrial & logistics, healthcare, financial services, and retail.
At the start of September, we were lucky enough to attend the Women in Construction awards as one of the sponsors of the first of its kind industry event. The event was held at the Park Plaza, London Riverbank to help raise awareness of the skills gap shortage and the need to introduce more women into construction. Donations raised went towards the Maggie Oliver Foundation, a charity supporting women and girls who have suffered sexual and domestic abuse.
October marked our first Software Networking Event, an exciting evening held at Searcy’s in the Gherkin, presented by Senior Software Consultant at RCK, Stephen Bradley. The evening was a fantastic opportunity to connect with industry leading experts and showcased how innovative companies engaging in software development can benefit from the government R&D tax relief scheme.
2022 also marked 10 exciting partnerships for RCK, including the Midlands Aerospace Alliance, National Federation Builders, UK Legal Tech Association and Meet Founders. We are excited to align with organisations who do so much to inspire innovation across a range of sectors.
In autumn 2022, we were also delighted to be a sponsor of the Headstrong Podcast. This exciting series, which encourages talking about mental health and vulnerabilities, has a range of amazing guests, such as Max Fosh, James Haskell and Rebecca Adlington and the episodes can be found here.
We marked the end of 2022 with festive celebrations at the beautiful Four Season’s Hotel in Hampshire. The RCK team gathered from far and wide to ring in the holiday season together, and to celebrate an incredible year of milestones and growth at RCK.
A note from our CEO, Peter Roscoe:
“Since inception, our aim has been to assemble the most elite and professional team in the Financial Services industry. Fundamentally, we believe in order to create a positive competitive environment, it’s essential we promote a meritocratic culture. Progression within the firm is not based on archaic notions such as time served, but instead on how much passion and commitment is shown to ensure our clients receive the best service possible.
In what has been a turbulent year for many in the industry, I am incredibly proud of all our team. In spite of the current climate, RCK Partners has successfully grown the team to finish the year with 65 members of staff. The determination and resilience you have shown has been the driving force in our astonishing growth thus far. Our aim is to keep reinvesting in the foundations of our business to ensure it flourishes for many years to come. It’s been an exciting journey so far; I am equally excited to see what the next 12 months offers as we add new product lines so we can better serve our clients in the evolving economic landscape for UK companies.”
