RCK Partners join up with leading business owners in celebration of women

On Thursday 13th July, RCK Partners were delighted to be joined by businesswomen from around the UK to share stories of success, encouragement and change for women in all industries. The event, which took place at The Savoy Hotel, raised funds and awareness for Smart Works – a UK Charity which helps women get back into work after overcoming financial and personal hardship.

We welcomed over 100 leading business owners and change makers from industries such as tech, construction, engineering and fashion, including keynote speakers Flavilla Fongang – founder of Global Tech Advocates – Black Women in Tech, and Managing Director of Design and Build UK Michaela Wain; the afternoon commenced with inspirational words about how they launched their careers and respective businesses despite personal and professional barriers that so many women face today.

Head of Corporate Partnerships at Smart Works, Helen Nelson, discussed the ways in which we can help empower women to achieve job success, from career coaching to interview dressing and preparation. Client Champion for Smart Works, Asma Deris then spoke about her professional journey and how the charity was integral for building confidence to help her achieve her full potential.

Our guests were then able to share which women have inspired them on their journey, and what can be done to empower women at all stages of their careers, in order to help us all receive the recognition that we deserve.

Women in Business: Video Series

In 2023, RCK Partners set out to better support women in business. We identified a lack of women on promotion pathways to Senior Leadership roles within businesses. Indeed, female directors still currently only hold approximately 27% of Public Board Seats.

In January, we launched a video series featuring inspirational women from many paths who kindly shared their journeys and advice with us. One recurring message that came up time and time again was the importance of empowering women to ask for and demand what they deserve in the workplace. Follow the video series here, where we next interview Angel investor on Sky TV’s Property Elevator, Keynote speaker, Board advisor and writer, Helen Chorley, and Head of Construction at The Access Group Carol Massay.
